Kaivalyadham Mumbai

Swami Kuvalayananda established the Kaivalyadhama Yoga institute in 1924, at Lonavala, with the goal of restructuring the society on spiritual values through the revival of ancient Yogic discipline. Simultaneously Swami started publishing the journal 'Yoga-Mimamsa' to present the results of scientific work which he had undertaken to bring out to the world, the mysteries of Yoga. He soon gathered around him a team of talented workers devoted to Yoga. His excellent work in the field of Yogic Culture attracted the attention of the many national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

It is a proud to say that scientific Yoga is the single largest contribution of Swami Kuvalayananda and that Kaivalyadhama is the embodiment of that pursuit. The Institute is aided by Govt. of India Ministry of HRD & Govt. of Maharashtra Department of Higher & Technical Education. It is also recognized as a Research Institute by Council for Scientific & Industrial Research, Govt. of India.

Along with the spiritual people or tourists, a number of patients suffering from various psychosomatic diseases also come to Kaivalyadham. A 'Rugna Seva Mandir' is created for them to look after the therapeutic work. As the demand arose from other places as well, the institute established its branches in Bombay, Rajkot, Delhi, Bhopal, USA & France.

The 75 long years of Kaivalyadhama’s existence has been a great landmark in its own way in the field of Indian culture and that is saying a lot about the institution..
