The Medical Coding Certificate Program is designed
to introduce you to the basic concepts of medical coding for physician
practices. The method of translating medical documentation into ICD-9
and CPT codes are taught. Other major topics included in this program
include medical terminology/anatomy and physiology, and medical billing
resulting in your attainment of an ARHCP Registered Certified Medical

Employment opportunities for medical coders are expected to grow due to
rapid growth in the number of medical tests, treatments and procedures
which will be increasingly scrutinized by third-party payers,
regulators, courts and consumers. As a result of this one has to be a
qualified medical coder and the medical coding certification has to be
acquired.

You must have a high school diploma or GED to be eligible to enroll for
the medical coding certification program. Any experience and/or training
in the medical field would be an asset for the aspiring student.
Additionally study in the areas of anatomy, physiology and basic
computer skills will also enhance your abilities in this program. |
