The gentle empire style that suggested tie ups in the bodice fashion is having more variations in Indian garments. Kurtas or tops are going kaftan styles though silhouette is gently suggested. Workouts, toning and good fits all seem necessary with bodice fits throwing more attention on the torso. The necks are getting wide but not deep and this allows edging with lace works, linings and mild embellishments.

Festive times in India generally pep up creations in all kinds of wear. The tops have the gentle layering as cowl styles or asymmetrical types are easy fits. The anarkali churidar is seeing more jazz with silks and churidars going as slacks in satin gold or silver for the festive times. Comfortable fits are seen in the slacks pattern in beige, cream, brown and black which can also be teamed with tops that are flowing to suit all body types.

There are more patterns in the neck as sleeves are off sleeves, long ones and cap sleeves are restricted to blouse patterns. One can also see a lot of blending of fabrics, jutti or chappals that are teamed with very bizarre prints of the African hints or the gurjari batiks.

Colors are more common in yellow, ash blue, forest orange or dull whites. The detailing in button styles is getting big with worked cloth buttons or fasteners in wood. The elastic pintex yoke style is again back where one has more possibility of embellishments with ghungroos, sequins or lining.

Electric blue and turquoise are seen in ghagra cholis and western wear has a lot of cowl styles below the waist. The back is generally more prominent with open backs and high necks. The deep neckline is slowly losing its importance and also suggesting hints in lace patterns or huge collars of the sixties in shirt pattern. Shorter the better is the trend whether it comes to kaftan-boxer kurtis, shirts or churidar tops. Asymmetrical or front cuts are again seen with side pockets in the Indian fashion scene of late.

Ramp styles often relate to icons or exclusive celebrity wears which cannot go on the streets or workplaces. Fusion works have to be blended and the approaching winter helps us to blend synthetic fabrics and calls for wraps in silks or satins.
