India is the third
largest country where the area coverage is concerned. In fact,
the geographic expanse of India leaves travelers spellbound, as
every type of water body and land exists here. There are
numerous lakes, rivers, streams, aw well as surrounding water
bodies that include a sea (Arabian Sea), ocean (Indian Ocean),
bay (Bay of Bengal).
And where the land forms are concerned there are thickest of
forests, desserts and barren land, the highest mountain peak in
the world, the plains and plateaus… it all exists across the
length and breath of this nation.
India spans over a total area of 3,287,590 Square kilometers,
north-south-east-west; no wonder she experiences such climatic
variations. |
The weather in India is an interesting
subject by itself. This is one nation where one can experience extremely
cold winters and extremely hot summers. Heavy rainfall that causes
flooding and barely any rainfall that causes barren and broken land.
India weather has been a matter of study amongst experts around the
world, as well as within the country itself. In fact, researching a
forecasting the weather conditions around the country is an important
task, as it is not only about casting information to the common man, but
being aware in order to take care of the agriculture produce.
India is primarily an agrarian country and because of this there are
agencies that work day and night providing next-to-accurate weather
India reports.
This helps farmers decide what alternate crops they can sow and reap, if
the expected weather does seem conducive for their primary crop. Also
weather predictions help forewarn the agriculturists in case of a
probable natural calamity, so that they can take precautionary and
protective measures.
The weather of India is generally categorized as warm summers and cool
winters with wet monsoons. Though this is the general perception, yet as
mentioned there are regions in the country that do experience extreme
climatic conditions.
However, while the west have Spring and Autumn, India has three major
seasons – Winter, Summer and Monsoons; the Spring and Autumn seasons are
very brief.
The general India weather conditions are conducive for tourists to
travel through the year. However, one should check out details of
problems that may occur during certain extreme season conditions. For
instance, the flood prone areas during monsoons, the regions that face
extremely hot and humid or dry summers and where the winters are
blistering cold.
It is rather impractical to give and estimation of the average
temperature and weather of India, because of the vast expanse of the
nation. The temperature and weather fluctuates from place to place.
While some places can be visited through the year, others should be
visited during certain seasons, and avoided otherwise..
