India is amongst the
biggest democracies of the world. It is a country with a very
rich cultural heritage that it does take immense pride in.
Thousands and thousands of tourists from every part of the world
travel to various parts of the country to explore its culture;
to experience it. In fact, so many tourists claim that after
reading about the nation’s interesting past they feel any words
penned on the country does not do justice to what exists, and so
a trip here is vital.
One of the intriguing aspects of India is that it is not a
nation of the single culture, but innumerable cultures have come
together. Thus, to speak of a single culture as such is limiting
what makes the country as colorful and wonderful as it is..

And so here is a nation that is truly
made of a billion people, each unique from the other, only because of
the individuality they have inherited, and yet there is a common thread
that runs through the entire populace – being Indian at the very heart.
While food habits vary from region to region, as does the clothing,
rites and rituals, way of life, beliefs and ideologies, yet it is a
united country. The dialects change every fifty kilometers. Take for
instance the city of Mumbai. Within this city itself there is a
difference of cultures in the various zones of the city; so one cannot
even begin to account for the variation spread across the length and
breath of India.
However, all Indian cultures mingle together to celebrated being
nationals of this great country. If every Indian is proud of anything it
is the great wealth each one owns in terms of the traditions that have
built it and kept it united; and not split it up into splinters. The
States, Union Territories, cities, towns, villages, etc., may have their
own judiciary bodies, but yet they all have one thing rule them all as a
single unit – The Pride of being Indian.
Travellers and explorers have come to study the varied Indian cultures
and have been left spellbound by the diversity, and more so by the unity
in the diversity. Poets and writers have written of the country as
colorful picture on the globe. The only place where so many colors can
be found on a single canvas! No doubt all the cultures of India are the
very veins and nerves that have made the country survive plunderings and
invasions through its entire history..
