India is a country
of diversity and yet it takes pride in the unity. It is probably
the only nation in the entire world that houses people from such
a large variety of cultures, as well as nationalities. Its
welcoming nature invited kings, monarchs and greedy merchants to
visit the country.
But they overstayed their welcome, took her generosity for
granted and plundered her, looted her and wounded her. Some
kings retaliated and fought for the honor of the nation, while
others preferred to lay back in complete resignation from the
situation waiting patiently for the enemy to leave with their
loot. |
Some kings came conquered and left; while
others came, conquered and remained. And so, while most historians claim
that India lost her independence with the coming of the British; a
thorough reading into the history of the nation will bring to light that
she lost her freedom with the very first invasion. But then there is no
use crying over spilt milk, and more so the milk spilt by others.
Yet, in spite of prevailing in the clutches of the varied evils that are
a part of the nation, every citizen salutes the flag of India each year
on Independence Day and Republic Day. Every citizen expresses his or her
gratitude to the freedom fighters who brought her independence from the
white man’s rule. But everyone also forgets about the chains of the all
the evil that has penetrated into the depths of Indian life.
The national flag of India is known to represent freedom of the nation,
as well as of every person of this country. And every citizen in their
own way attempts to preserve and protect the freedom they achieved. It
is necessary for each person to always be aware of the need of serving
the nation open-heartedly rather than remain within the boundaries of
one’s needs. India’s flag was designed and unfurled to celebrate her
freedom..
