India is given the
status of being one of the fastest developing nations in the
world. However, in many areas there is a still a lot more in the
asking. While the economy of the nation is getting wealthier,
yet the poorer are still in their rotting condition and
illiteracy continues to be a disease that is spreading.
No doubt the
Government is making efforts to spread basic education at every
level of society. But it definitely is not enough. The nation is
still nowhere close reaching the mark of 100% primary literacy.
Education in India has come to be regarded as an asset and
investment for the middle and upper class families, wherein the
parents are leaving no stone unturned in order to provide for
their children superior education going up to post graduation. |
And the new age education policies are
working as great support systems to fund one’s further education. But,
while this is happening for this section of society, there is another
section where all the evils of society is breeding and education is
reaching a miniscule number.
Today, India education needs to reach out further and further in order
to wipe away all the problems that plague Indian society in general.
While Indian students are considered the most intelligent in the world,
the fact remain that there is much that needs to be done about the
system considering the number of drop outs each year. While subject-wise
children are getting all the fundamental knowledge, the value system
seems to be deteriorating. And before things reach non-reversible zone
many NGOs are readily coming forward to provide value-based education in
schools.
For a rather long time, youngsters were not sure about their career
path. They would either follow their own instincts, parental advice or
then just follow the path adopted by majority youth. This led to a vast
number of young people becoming frustrated on the job, depressed and
then in the search of something new. Realizing that this was becoming a
major problem, higher education India youth specific began setting up
base and providing professional guidance to those on their way to
carving a niche for themselves.
Such consulting firms provide vocational and career guidance, along with
running a battery of tests and counselling sessions with the students
and their family. They would then show them all the options available
in the chosen field, along with the institutes of learning and the
probable long-term goals that can be achieved.
Along with the consultants, another gift that has been provided by the
Indian education system is that of distance education in India. In fact,
with growing number of KPOs and BPOs, the youth fresh out of graduation
can get well paying jobs that can fund their further post-graduate
education, in order to carve for themselves a better career. And so by
the time they complete their education they have experience also. This
is possible because of the professional distance education courses. .
