India is amongst the
biggest consumer nations in the world, considering its
ever-increasing population and migrant populace. And where the
garment industry is concerned, every strata of society has
become so self-conscious that they are ready to spend a
substantial amount of their monthly income on dressing well, and
yet within their means. Apart from the local consumer supply,
the nation is also one of the largest garment exporters, and
holds the status of being an efficient job-worker in general.
The clothes from India are not just the typical traditional ones
that the western world is used to seeing in the picture books
that define the Indian culture, but also the up to date western
clothes too. |
As a result of the varied important
factors that maximize profits for any business, India is considered as a
profitable producer of garments, the world over. Prime amongst these is
the cost-effectiveness. Labor and corresponding efficiency of this
nation is low-cost and high, respectively. This is most important factor
for any successful business venture – low production cost at highest
quality possible.
Though the garment producers are given the status of being exporters,
only a few of them manage to export their own original wares. The rest
are assigned specifications, as per the company or proprietor placing
the order and then send them overseas under the stamp of exports. In
fact, the number of Indian clothes exporters has been increasing over
the years, owing the large margins and order consistency. Not only that,
but even the export rejects has a comfortable market here. This ensures
complete sale of all that is produced. There are few exporters who off
and on see a negative financial year, but almost all otherwise smile
their way to the bank.
In the recent past, yoga has been picking up popularity in the western
world. Because of this there is a steadily increasing demand for yoga
clothes from India. These are specially designed one-piece or two-piece
garments, made from light stretch fabrics. Though they may look like the
typical tracks pants and t-shirts, however they are designed differently
and are usually pastel shades, as well as the various hues of beige and
cream. There is also the range of earth tones, too. Along with the
garments, even the yoga mats are high in demand.
Although the traditional clothes from India are rather heavy and not too
practical to wear on a daily basis abroad, yet they are in demand in
almost every white nation. And interestingly it is not just the Indian
communities living there, but also the white skinned populace who
purchase the garments. During festival time the Indian communities
gather together calling every person of their neighborhood to join in
the celebrations. And it is during such occasions that everyone can be
seen in the colorful traditional. A true treat to the eye, in the land
of the whites!
