Putting a roof
together is no child’s play. You have to know the material to
put on the roof from the paraphernalia of options available. How
will it look, will stand the current weather conditions – like
excess snow, or sandstorms, rain or strong winds. Will stand a
sudden outbreak in weather like hailstorms, earthquakes and
violent windy rains?
Although metal materials have made inroads in the roofing
fraternity, the types of metals available are enormous making it
a tough decision. But once you have made up your mind, don’t
look back. Because that’s just the beginning. Next on the list
is getting roofing material supplies. It could be your old roof,
with material already on it or it could be a new construction,
either way you have to get supplies. |
Before building supplies for metal
roofing make a list of all the things you need. If you are getting a
contractor on board then supplies is not your headache. But if you plan
to buy the supplies and give it to the contractor then once again you
will have to plunge into the nitty-gritty’s, however you will save cost
here as you will actually know what is necessary what is not.
If it is the entire roof that you are looking at then go for wholesale
roofing supplies. It will bring a huge reduction in your costs. Take
quotes from at least 3 suppliers before you go ahead with one
wholesaler. Because there is an influx in the Indian market with
manufacturers that can give you the best at a negotiable price. They
will even go ahead and give custom made requirements at an inexpensive
rate.
Mentioned below are a few supplies you would need.
Magnetic hammer – they are built with
life-long guaranty, they are steel topped with an angled shaft giving
you multipurpose usage.
Screws would include – stainless steel, painted screws, metal roof
screws for metal roofs so they blend in well. Air staplers, spot-nails
striker are a few that should feature in your list.
On the top of the list for metal roofing building supplies would be roof
vents and attic vents. They are a must on the roof. But at the same time
they have to be as rigid as the material you are using for the roofs.
You could also differentiate in the roof vents like there are air
intakes for roof vents, roof vent base flange, shingles for roof vent
etc.
Some other roofing equipment and supplies would include diamond saw
blades, repair tape, hidden deck fasteners, hot air welders, pipe
support systems, snow guards for extreme snowfall climates, tile bond,
shingle adhesives.
