All the occasions in
life are never the same. Then why should the dressing be? There
are special dresses in India for every kind of occasion. From a
new born baby’s party to a person’s funeral, there are special
dresses to be worn.
The most common form of party wear for the general public for
parties and light occasions are sarees for ladies, salwar kameez
for girls and kurta pyjama or simple shirt and pant for men.
On occasions like marriage, there are some kind of special
dresses for everyone. |
Men can actually look stunning by wearing
sherwanis which is a more exclusive kind of a long kurta with churidar
pyjama and a stole around it. They are best with Jaipurian mojaris as
footwear. Modern or urban gents may prefer to wear full three piece suit
with tie for marriages.
For ladies attending the occasion like marriage, there are some
extremely beautiful sarees with heavy embroidery and vibrant colors.
Other than saree, there are dresses like salwar kurta, lehenga chunni or
ghaghra.
Bangles, earrings, necklaces, rings, bindi etc are the added beauty to
these dresses. For marriage dresses the most loved colors are red,
yellow, green, blue, gold, silver etc. White and Black are avoided as
both the colors are not considered a happy sign for auspicious
occasions.
For events like funeral or death anniversary, the dressing is supposed
to be in white without any ornaments or colors unlike the black of the
western culture. Ladies wear white saree while gents wear white kurta
pyjama.
And then another annual special occasion is the birthday and
anniversary. It is a special day, universally, and instead of wearing
something from the existing wardrobe, why not pick up something new that
makes you feel special. And this is not just if there is a special party
on the anvil, but just in order to add to the speciality of the day.
Parents normally dress their children up in a new outift on their
birthday, then why not adults do it for themselves.
To get a little philosophical, every moment of life is a special
occasion, and so human beings should be specially dressed, feel happy
and celebrate life, as it is.
