Obesity has become a
matter of concern all over the world because of the rising
number of people in this category of humanity.
It is not about how
a person looks with the excess weight, because a charming and
pleasing personality is more important than the weight they
carry. It is the health problems that tend to follow and haunt
the obese populace.
They are not to be
isolated, but to be tended to and helped to lose weight. But in
the mean time it is only fair that they are made to feel as
special as anyone else. This is where some designers have
stepped in and brought to the fore the plus size.

The plus size summer dresses are designed
in a way to give one a slimmer look, and yet not hang too loosely over
the body. Interestingly the range of clothes under this size-label makes
one look a few inches thinner than they really are. And so to speak the
designs and patterns are not different from what is in fashion, but are
just cut a little differently than the normal sizes.
The womens plus size summer dresses are usually in darker prints and
shades than the normal sizes. This is because the darker shades tend to
reduce inches after being worn. Not literally, but only in appearance.
The prints are larger and bolder. The floral prints contain large
flowers. No horizontal stripes, but vertical ones. And the necklines are
more towards plunging than covering up to the neck. This is because
larger neckline patterns tend to make one look slightly thinner.
The knit dresses for summer are made from threads that are lighter than
the usual ones used to crochet the dress. This is generally the cotton
synthetic thread. Where color goes the preference tilts towards lighter
pastel colors. There is also a range of shaded crochet threads. The plus
size knit dresses are those with knots at more distance than the regular
tightly placed knots. This is because it provides an openness to the
dress that makes the person look slimmer than she actually is.
Unfortunately not too many designers have plunged into summer dresses
plus size. This is because they feel that there is not much of a market.
And another reason is that most designers feel that by creating a line
for the plus size wearers they are making these people more conscious of
their weight abnormality. However, this is not so, as creating designs
for them, is a way of saying that their place in society in respected
and honored, as much as the normal sizes.
Summer dresses and plus size still has a lot of scope for development.
Some designers are trying to invent patterns that can be cut and sewn
out of pastel shades without making one feel fat. After all nobody likes
being fat, it is a problem that needs to be solved.
