Indian designers

People from India have left their mark wherever they have been in this world; and continue to do so. A new generation that is ready to change the world is the huge gang of Indian designers. They seem to have pledged now that they will change the image of Indian fashion in the eyes of the world.

And most of them have already done enough to mark the success of Indian designers around the world. More so in the last decade, with names in the industry having created lines of fusion for the international ramp. It is because of them that the foreign garment industry has set foot on Indian shores.

They have everything to rock the world. They have innovative imagination and unbeatable creativity, divergent thinking, knowledge, experience and above all, the determination to do something innovative.

They are the ‘Indian designers’. Some of the Indian designers like Ritu Kumar, Manish Malhotra and Hemant Trivedi have just revised the whole fashion of the Indian film industry. In fact, they are the ones who have reformed fashion in media, having given it a whole new meaning.

Bina Ramani merged the Indian and Western identities to kick off the current global fusion fashion. Her accessories of delicately embroidered bags, stoles and traditional jewellery created a rage all over the world and made headline news in the Spanish version of fashion magazine Vogue.

Her forte is rescuing antique fabrics; old saris and garments that are vintage but yet have a modern look. Her designs are retailed in Paris, London, and the US.

Most of the Indian designers are from some reputed fashion designing institute but then there are various others as well who have no such degree or qualification but are very successful because of their talent alone.

Technical knowledge of fashion designing is extremely helpful and important for designing but then it is not at all the minimum requirement. What rules is winning the  public over. If the work of a designer is liked by the clients then he/she climbs onto the A-list, whether or not he/she is qualified or not.
