She looks so gorgeous on her special day. And its not just the glow on her face, but also the dress for the occasion. Okay, without too much further ado, it is the bride being spoken about. Actually not her but her outfit for the special date.

The bride is noticed by everyone in attendance; and the status of the bride’s family is evaluated on the basis of her dress.

Yes, the groom’s family, especially those envious relatives are making mental notes about the bride and her family from the dress she wears. 

So, people in India, take care of the bridal wear separately and with great detail. The dress is most of the times prepared on demand according to the bride’s measurements to avoid any end time confusions and inconveniences.

Earlier a typical Indian bride would wear a saree. A very heavy saree embellished with gold wire and semi-precious jewels. However, as time went by, instead of the tradional saree brides began to wear something more comfortable and convenient such as the lehenga-choli-chunni set, the ghaghra choli and in parts of north India heavily adorned salwar kameez.

Shopping starts months before the marriage. Nowadays, one gets to see the latest trends in marriages. People today are willing to spend huge sums of money on clothes. Indian marriages are anyways very lavishly celebrated.

Therefore the Indian market has become so competitive and has gone international. The trend set in recently are short cholis with pants (usually embroidered), short kurtas are still very much in, with broad salwaars  or embroidered pants, and shararas are back with a bang. 

Fashion of the eighties and nineties is coming back, only with different patterns and designs. Sequins work and handwork is very much in demand along with beadwork. Designer Indian bridal wear is in vogue for those who can afford them.

People now want variety and they like detailing their clothes. Zardosi is totally out from the fashion spot now. Indian wedding Sarees very much rule the scenario presently. Beauticians have come up with different and new ways to drape wedding sarees.

Ladies from teenagers to the elder generation can be spotted wearing colorful sarees with funky blouses, making them look sensuous and elegant at the same time.
