Evenings mean
parties. And parties are special, no matter what they are for.
The main objective of a party is to have a galore of various
kinds of dresses rather than a social meeting of friends and
family.
And for the people for whom a party is special, then it
definitely demands a special dress. Evening dresses are meant
for those special events held only in evenings among urban
people. They are commonly known as parties but one may have a
special name for each kind of a party.
The first aspect about evening dress is the color. Dull colors
are a strict NO! Only bright yet comfortable colors are allowed.
Depending on the season, the type of dress also varies. |
For example, in winters what one would
find is the emphasis is on the kind of overcoats or shawls rather than
the dressing beneath them while in summers, bright and light clothes are
in.
For ladies, evening dresses include sarees and salwar kurtas with not so
heavy embroidery or any other kind of works. For men, these include a
simple light shirt and a trouser or may also be kurta payjama.
Comfort is an important factor for evening dresses since they are light
occasions which are meant for leisure meetings. Yet, there are those who
overlook comfort for the glamor look and wear the tight fits in which
they can barely take baby steps. But, then it all depends on individual
needs. Is one dressing up to make a statement or to be comfortable.
Evening dresses don’t generally demand much of jewelry except for a
chain or a light necklace matching with the dress. For men, footwear can
be of great importance. Formal leather shoes are often not worn but for
formal shirt and pant. Sandals or open foot wear are preferred by men
wearing traditional dresses.
