While working out the details of how to
write a persuasive essay, one should bear in mind that the essay needs
to be successful in getting the reader to change his or her current
stand on the issue. The aim is to appeal to the reader’s sense of right
and wrong in such a way as to make the reader convinced enough to
abandon his or her own ideas. To do this, it is necessary for the writer
to bombard the reader with accurate facts and figures. This means that
unlike with some other forms of essay writing, research is an
indispensable feature of persuasive essay writing.
Persuasive
essay topics for high school students may be
researched in the school library. Some examples would include the
argument for the 'need for regular tests and exams', etc. You may have
to choose which side of the case you want to advocate or your teacher
may take the liberty to assign you to one side of the fence. Either way,
the only way to persuade anyone else is to be persuaded about something
oneself so remember to dedicate yourself to the subject and at least
temporarily view things from that point-of-view.
