Mahendra Singh Dhoni (M S Dhoni) is the current Indian cricket caption. Also known as ‘Mahi’ and ‘MS’, he is credited to change the fortunes of Indian cricket team in last one and half years. He is known to bring ‘Midas Touch’ whenever he plays for India. Born on July 7, 1981 in Lavali Village Almora, Uttarakhand, MS Dhoni is one of the most reputed players in world cricket. He was the man behind India’s success as Twenty20 world cup winner in year 2007. Since then it has been a very successful journey for Indian cricket team under his stewardship. When Dhoni came into Indian side, he was more of an attacking batsman with an amazing ability of destroying any bowling attack.

After all the hard work in domestic circuit, his moment of fame came against Pakistan at Vishakapatnam where he blasted his way through a huge 148 of just 123 balls. M S Dhoni has played for Bihar, Jharkhand, Under 19 teams and India. He began his cricketing journey as a wicketkeeper but currently he is one of the best wicketkeeper-batsman in world cricket. He has several records to his name. He has the highest batting average for a wicketkeeper along with highest score by a wicketkeeper in ODIs. He had scored 183 against Sri Lanka which also consisted of maximum number of sixes (10) by a wicketkeeper in ODIs.

Chief among them are; 2007 ICC World Twenty20, CB Series of 2007-08 held in Australia, India-Sri Lanka ODI Series of 2008 which incidentally is also the first time ever India registered the series win against Islanders in their own yard, Border-Gavaskar trophy 2008 (where Indian defeated Australia by 2-0) and recently defeating England 1-0 in Tests and 5-0 in ODIs.
