tattoo removal

Tattoos are something that are generally considered permanent. Tattoo removal is however possible but only upto certain degrees. Comeplete tattoo removal is however not often possible. Also a lot of pain is experiances while tattoo removal along with the expense that one bears.

Laser tattoo removal is most commonly performed. The lasers react with the ink in the tattoo, break it down and it is then absorbed by the body. The skin in that particular area then resembles like that being naturally faded over time due to sun exposure. This requires many repeated visits even if the tatto is a small one. This may result in permanent scarring also.

There are usually five types of tattoo that can be named as amateur, professional, cosmetic, medical, and natural tattoo. Amateur tattoos are easier and quicker to remove than professional tattoos. Areas with thin skin will be more likely to scar than thicker-skinned areas. There are several types of Q-switched lasers that are avilable in the marlet today and each is effective at removing a different range of the color spectrum.

These kind of lasers effectively remove black, blue, purple and red tattoo pigment. New lasers like the Versapulse & Medlite are also introduced in the market that remove yellow and green ink pigment. Tattoo removal technology is being developed for painless and complete tattoo removal.

Now-a-days tattoo removal creams are available in the market as well but most people do not trust them. The difficulty in removing tattoos is related to tattooing technique. The ink of the tattoo gets deposited in the lower layer of skin. That is the reason that it cannot be rubbed off. In case of tattoo removal, the lower layer of skin needs to be accessed. That is why most people do not trust the so-called tattoo removal cream because they are very unlikely to be effective.

Some people want a new tattoo on a old one itself. In that case how to remove tattoo that was previously done? This requires one to take off the old tattoo first. The process is usually known as a cover-up. A cover-up should be done quite artfully. It should render the old tattoo completely invisible.

Some shops and artists use laser removal machines to break down and lighten undesired tattoos to make coverage with a new tattoo easier. Since tattoo ink is translucent, covering up the older tattoo compels the artist to use darker tones and tattoo patterns in the new tattoo such that it effectively hide the scars of previous tattoo.

Tattoo aftercare is very important to protect the tattoo. After the tattoo is done, it is covered with a pad and a bandage. The bandage is kept for less than twenty-four hours. The skin needs to be healed and hence one needs to make sure that there is nothing rubbing against the tattoo. As far as a foot tattoo is concerned, one must avoid wearing socks while it heals.

For a tattoo on the lower back one should take care that the waistline of a pants is loose enough so that it doesn’t rub against the tattoo. New tattoos need to be protected from both sun and water. Tattoo care is a must to protect it from infection. The risk of tattoo infection becomes high if proper precautions are not taken. Signs of infection can be red, inflamed, puffy looking tender skin...
