Mirrors with different and beautiful frames attract everyone’s attention. Most antique mirrors have a historical value attached to them and hence are expensive in terms of money. Some of the mirrors are as old as fifty years and hence are polished or worked upon to make them appear new.

Wood antique mirrors are generally furnished in Queen Anne walnut, Georgian mahogany, satinwood and Regency rosewood. Exotic antique make-up mirrors are a wonderful and a sophisticated gift one could ever ask for. Most antique mirror collectors carve a niche for themselves by collecting only make-up mirrors. Most often these mirrors are silver plaited with floral designs on them. Their contemporary simplicity is what makes these mirrors a collectible.
 
Antique mirrors are usually enlarge a room space or brighten a dark area, or are used to reflect a chandelier or spectacular view. Antique mirrors speak a lot of the era to which it belongs. For e.g. pre 20th century mirrors would always have a wooden back or that the older European mirror frames tend to have a mitered joint with a spine running through it for strength. Most of the American frames usually have either mitered or lap joints at the back of it.
