Coins are a great contributor to the history of any civilization. Coins often give a glance about the origin of many cultures across the world. Coins are normally made of hard metal with a round shape.

Most of the countries have produced round shaped coins but many countries have also issued coins in other shape as well for distribution and dedicatory purposes.

Coins primarily function as the circulation currency. Generally coins are made of one metal, be it copper, silver, gold or lead. Each coin has some historic value associated with it, in terms of its origin, importance, event and era. Many of the old coins are not in circulation..

That brings us to rare coins. The rare collectible coins values is well known and well discussed amongst the coins aficionados. Rare coins are those coins that are not in circulation and are in good condition. Many times, rarity is misinterpreted as old coins.infact; it is more about the availability and the condition of the coins. Many old coins have other than round shape and this difference fetches higher values for such coins. Other shapes include square, oval, rectangular, flower, diamond etc issued by many countries. Value is also subject to the minimal circulation of the coin. The coins which were less in circulation command more value than the coins which were having extensive circulation. The condition of the coins is also a crucial factor in deciding the value. If the coin is in good condition, it naturally commands more value. Other than all these factors, the interesting historical factor attached with each coin is also quite vital.
